Today I am choosing to Celebrate Marriage
There is One Simple Reason behind this – Monday, August 4th, is my 13th Wedding Anniversary!
Yup my wonderful, patient, loving husband has put up with my ups and downs, ins and outs, tempers and calms, and all things me for the last 13 years of marriage + 1 year living together. It’s hard to imagine that just 13 years ago I was preparing for what would be the biggest day of my life, a day that would alter the path my life would take forever! A marriage is so much more than the 1-Day of a Wedding, and sadly many girls get wrapped up in the wedding, forgetting that on the other side of that 1-Day there’s a marriage that needs to be taken care of. My mom never let me forget that, she constantly reminded me during the planning process that at the end of the day I’d be married and when we woke up the day after and so on, the entire purpose of the wedding was to celebrate the joining of our lives. However, there was still a marriage, a coupling coming out of the end of that day!
So to my hubby, I love you deeper than the deepest Ocean, your patience has helped me build mine, your tolerance for my unpredictable emotional waves has made me more aware of them, without you I am not whole! You are the other half of me! Plain and Simple! While you are an AMAZING father to our children, you are first and foremost an AMAZING husband to me! And for that I Love You!
– Mignon McLaughlin
“The secret to a happy marriage is if you can be at peace with someone within four walls, if you are content because the one you love is near to you, either upstairs or downstairs, or in the same room, and you feel that warmth that you don’t find very often, then that is what love is all about”
– Bruce Forsyth
“Don’t marry the person you think you can live with; marry only the individual you think you can’t live without”
“But marriage goes in waves. You’ve got to be patient. People bail and give up on their marriages way too early. They just don’t put the work and effort into it. You’ve got to suck up your ego a lot of times, because that can be a big downfall”
“Every good relationship, especially marriage is based on respect. If its not based on respect nothing that appears to be good will last very long”
– Amy Grant

I want to also share our Wedding Song with All of You! While there was a number of awesome songs that stick with me from our wedding, by Far Back at One by either Mark Wills or Brian McKnight is the one song I always go back to
